This is the time I've got

I love the elegance of what John W. Gardner, an American writer and statesmen said, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."

Is it really that simple?

Hard to believe. But.... what if it is?

What if it is all in my decisions?

As my Aunt Marie Therese would say, What to do? What to do?

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

What if I decide to make today the best day of the rest of my life? What if I decide that today I am going to....

and then I list the vital, most important, most relevant thing I can do to take me one baby step, or one giant leap forward toward my goal of using my unique gifts to create a world where human beings dance freely in love, joy and harmony.

What if I decided that today I must do that one thing. No more stalling. No more dragging my heels. No more rationalizing why today is not the best day to do it.

What would I do with my time?

“We don't have an eternity to realize our dreams, only the time we are here.” Susan Taylor

Today, I will pick up the phone and make that important call I've been putting off.

Today, I will spend one hour writing the outline for a course I plan on teaching.

Today, I will use my Six Points of Power in everything I do and say and think. (1. Pay attention. 2. Speak the truth. 3. Be responsible for my life. 4. Ask for what I want. 5. Keep my agreements. 6. Create value in all things.

Today, I will BE committed to DO what it takes to HAVE what I want. I will be the creative, powerful, magnificent human being I am, fearlessly living the life of her dreams in the here and now because tomorrow is yet to unfold.

The question is: What would you do if you knew you could not fail? What will you do today to live the life of your dreams?

Today, I wrote a message on my blog and included a few of Lousie-Questions. ha! I thought of you when the questions rolled off my keyboard so let me say 'thanks' for being an inspiration.

"What would you do if you knew you could not fail?"

A couple of months ago, I'd have said "Create a Blog" but I did that already, even if my first messages were as stiff as cardboard. Any task becomes easier if we'll just go ahead DO IT and stop worrying about failure or success. I've been muttering 'Good Enough' to myself so much the past few years that maybe it's finally kicking in.

"What will you do today to live the life of your dreams?"

Ooooo...hard question. Be back in a minute.

Okay...I've always envisioned myself as a grand old lady reading books in the shade of a beautiful tree.

So today, I'll plant that tree and forward the nursery bill to M.L. Gallagher for my delicate yet sturdy Canadian Chokecherry. I think I'll call her Ellie.

Hugs,
CZ

Thought I'd let you know Ms. Ellie has been planted, watered, fertilized and blessed.

I'll figure out a way to send you a pic. And then I'll send you a pic when I'm sipping lemonade, reading Siddhartha, with my cane leaning daintily on the tree.

Deal?

Love,
Carolyn

Hi!

I love CZ responses. :)

Louise, you inspire me to be more than I am, to do more and commit to more in my life. I had to print your words today and have them up at my computer desk where they will be seen regularly by everyone in the house.

I have been putting my dreams to realization recently, taking those leaps and steps that are required to moving forward. Thursday I made a call to book my first vocal concert... yikes! That's a leap for me. My next leap, to practice even when it's difficult, even when my family gets irritated hearing the same songs over and over again. To sing, whenever and wherever I am given the opportunity.

For me, even dreaming has been a step in that direction. For many years, I put dreaming off and now I have dreams that are so large they scare me. But, I do not let fear control my life and I am stepping out on my way to achieving my dreams.

I want to thank you. Thank you for reminding me that what I want in life is achievable, it is good and I am worth it. Choices taught me that and it is past time I truly believed it for myself. Just wanted to say thank you for your inspiration in my life.

Hugs and beans

CZ -- That's a deal! And wow! Ms Ellie rooted and flourishing, becoming a beautiful part of your life.

Thank you!

Sarah -- you are a blessing. And I am sooo happy to hear you are painting your dreams every colour of the rainbow. Congrats on singing -- and let me know when the concert is. We'll be there to cheer you on.

right now, I'm sitting in the lobby of the Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver, the ocean breeze is drifting in, waves lap at the sands and China calls thousands of miles away.

I haven't posted for a couple of days as I didn't bring my laptop. But I did find this computer so will be back this evening to fill you in on our amazing journey.

having a wonderful time - hope you are too!

Love, hugs, and beans..... and chokberry wine!
