Through Compassion
Through Compassion
I slipped
outside my comfort zone
to the edges of my mind
exposed
black on white
filtered through
the shimmering light
of dawn
rising
upon the hope
this day
peace would come.
I fell
beyond reason
revealed
truth on truth
spoken through
the broken mirror
of dusk
falling
upon the dream
peace
is yet to come
someday
soon.
I rose
above the noise
shot
through the lie
we are separate
hidden behind
the unlocked door
of truth
illuminating
the path
where compassion
lead
to the One
I am
when
I am
One
with
the One
connected
through all time
with the One
in You.
In December, my friend Joyce, over at Peaceful Legacies, posted about The Charter for Compassion.
For those who missed the opportunity to sign it, I included the badge on my sidebar -- and I invite you to step in, to participate.
Below is author and scholar Karen Armstrong's Ted Prize Talk about her wish for the Charter. Let's make peace our priority. Let's let compassion be our path.

the play of words and phrases here are really cool.
makes the message fun to read.
love your poetry...still trying to unlock that door of truth myself.
You really are an extraordinary poet. I want more!
Lovely poem, Louise.
I signed the Charter when it was first made public (and also wrote about it), and I try every day to live up to it. It's the best place to start that I know of.
Louise ... what a lovely and poetic way to bring compassion back to our minds and hearts!
I've missed visiting here ... you offer so much.
Beautiful poem and great video. I think pride stands in the way of compassion all too often. In big ways and in small ways. Much to think about.
