The Key To Me

It began as an idea for a mixed media painting titled: The Key To Me

I painted today.

Colour splashing onto a canvas. White to black and all the colours in between.

Immersed in art, my heart sang of gratitude and grace, my spirit whispered songs of joy.

I painted today.

It started as a collage of three block prints I'd created of my face, a one continuous line drawing from the mirror to the page.

But the inks ran and softened the lines and I changed course. Fairies rose and fluttered their wings and I heeded their call.

It became: The Key To My Dreams
I threw caution to the wind. Threw paint onto the canvas. Squiggles and lines and crossing over. Softening. Merging. Creating.

I painted today.

My soul embraced itself in arms of happiness.

My body breathed deeply.

I painted today and

I

was

happy.

thanks Maureen! There was such bliss in just letting it happen. In just taking a risk and seeing what would appear.

Thanks Claudia! When I paint, it's like writing poetry - another form of expression.
