Mary Oliver: I am breathing
Breathing just a little
life flows
without thought
of each moment passing
away
draining into the next
every drop of anticipation
sucked dry
of life's rich bounty
unfolding
in the unexpected joy
of being alive.
Breathing together
of all things
I find myself
awakened
revelling in every drop
of anticipation
dripping wet in the ripe, rich fruit
of life
flowing
effortlessly
into the unexpected joy
of being alive.

pretty vista...
From my walk with Ellie. Hmmm... I feel another poem coming on! The view from Ellie's walk... :)
Thank you for your poem, for reminding me about Mary Oliver and for reminding me to take things one step at a time.
You are wonderful!
dripping wet in the ripe rich fruit of life.....how delicious!
thanks for all the yummy breath
this stirs:)

On the Way -- your words sound light and spacious -- they bring joy to my heart.
Thank you!
Thank you Jennifer - I always feel refreshed after a visit with you -- here or at your place.
So lovely to see you.

This brings a gentle breath today ... beautiful.
I so love Mary Oliver! I went through my copy of "American Primitive" this week to create a cento poem out of her words. I'll post it soon.
Anyway, after rereading her poems, I especially like your "dripping wet in the ripe, rich fruit."
just visited your other blog
and WOW what a wonder!
i love it over there!
but because it's a wordpress blog,
it won't recognize my comments
unless you first retrieve
the one out of the spam pile
and "allow" it.
Then it will let me leave love
over there
from now on.
Thanks for all the life
you share,
Jennifer
Such a beautiful view. So much unexpected joy in nature.
Did you write this? Love the ode to Mary Oliver!
Hi Ladie Gilmore. Yes, I did. And thank you!
